Spring 15' inspiration

Spring 15' inspo

Continuing with the theme "All things Spring", I'm bringing you my personal inspiration board for this season. I usually wear a lot of neutral colors but what better time to add a pop of color than spring, right? I'm really loving the color orange right now, more than usual I should say because it is my favorite color. I love these Orange heels pictured above; I imagine them paired with denim and a button up. Speaking of denim, I plan on spending 99% of spring-summer in a denim item rather it be a distressed denim jacket or boyfriend jeans. The other 1% of that time will be spent in mini dresses and loose cotton tees. By the way the best cotton tees are found in the men's department, they're fun to accessorize and pair great with EVERYTHING. There is nothing I want more than a button up body suit and loose fitting white denim *praying I find both items soon. As far as makeup goes, I want to try lining the water line in my eye with white liner and experimenting with pink and nude toned lipstick and blushes. When it comes to accessories I'm diggin' all things gold right now.

What will you be rocking this spring?

Spring Makeup Looks: Bronze Babe & Orange Crush

Over the past couple of months we have become makeup fanatics! We picked up a couple new items we wanted to try this spring-summer and we thought it would be fun to create 2 fun go to looks. Maya went for a bronze look; a look we love especially since we're a lil pale coming out of winter and will def be faking a glow for awhile. Milan's look is an ode orange (my fav color) we would've never thought this color would be wearable but by applying with a light hand we made it work. Both of our looks started with the same products Nars Sheer glow foundation in Syracuse, Bobbi Brown creamy concealer in Honey, MAC eyeliner in Teddy and Dior mascara in brown.

Maya's look: Nars- Oasis blush, Nars- Multi-stick in St barts, Nars- Albatross, Nars lip gloss in Gold digger, MAC paint pot in Let me pop, Anastasia DipBrow in Medium Brown.
I used a Nars multi stick in St Barts on my cheek bones, chin and forehead to give me an overall glow. Then swiped the apples of my cheeks with Albatross and Oasis for extra highlight. On my lids I used my fingers to apply Mac's paint pot in "let me pop" then took a brush and blended with a dark brown shadow. I lined my lips with Hover from MAC then topped it off with Nars lip gloss in Gold digger.

Milan's look: Nars-Taj Mahal blush(used on lids & cheeks), Nars- Albatross, Mac- Morange lipstick and Hover lip liner, Anastia DipBrow in Medium brown. I used Taj Majal  and Albatross on my cheeks and lids I love this combo; Taj Mahal gives me a nice pop of color and Albatross is an amazing highlight. On my lips I applied a thin layer of Morange lipstick from MAC and lined it with Hover.

What makeup looks will you be trying this Spring?

Jason Wu

Jason Wu
If ever there was a guide for women to follow when choosing pieces for her wardrobe it would be written by WU. Every season he completely blows me away with his elegant garments. I caught the live stream of Jason Wu's' 2015 RTW collection and instantly fell in love, from the color story, to the furs, those killer shoes, that olive matte crocodile dress! There was so much to look at, each garment demanded attention. The Jason Wu girl is the woman I dream to be.. I want to wear crocodile dresses! This post is dedicated to you WU... You are genius.

Prey on it: Mansur Gavriel

Mansur Gavriel

We are starting a new segment on the blog called "Prey on it" where we talk about luxe items we are currently lusting. First Prey is the brand Mansur Gavriel. We love their beautifully crafted bags and all the gorgeous colorways. My favorite piece is the bucket bag, Maya loves their backpacks. These bags have became very popular in a short amount of time selling out within hours during their restock last December via their online shop. The brand just announced they will restock their webshop on March 19! I just love a well crafted practical bag, these bags retail from $400-700. We are currently praying we get our hands on a one of these bags. *deep sighs ... One day

Check out more of these bags at Mansurgavriel.com and join in on our obsession.

Monday Muse : Tracee Ellis Ross

So my Love for Tracee is long standing, it dates back to Girlfriends days. I was 8 when Girlfriends first aired, Joan quickly became my favorite character. Joan's style and goofy personality instantly stood out for me but what stood out more was the women behind the Character; Tracee Ellis Ross. Similar to her character Tracee is also goofy and her style is out of this world; its also worth noting that she does not have a stylist. I'm constantly scrolling through her instagram to get hair and style inspiration. I love this woman and after years in the industry I'm glad to see that she's just as funny and stylish as she was when I first saw her grace my television as Joan. Her new sitcom Blackish on ABC is hilarious but I honestly tune in every week to see Tracee's character Bo's chic style.

Who's your muse?

Jewelry Inspiration

I've never been the type to wear jewelry consistently and when it comes to that area of my wardrobe I am so uninspired. When I make it a point to buy pieces of jewelry, I usually end up forgetting about them or wear them for about a week straight then I'm done with them forever. Every time I see someone with an outfit that is on point I always take notice of the pieces of jewelry they've put together to complete their look. Im envious of those individuals who have the dedication to accessorize daily; I honestly think they have the most interesting look. Recently I have made it my mission to ACCESSORIZE my life...and wardrobe. I searched the web for editorials that will inspire me to reach my new goal of becoming an accessorizing queen (hopefully).

As we know Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will my new and improve accessory collection. Im really loving the thick gold chocker although I doubt I'd wear that daily, I think it would be an amazing piece for anyone to have in their collection. Gold is always a good choice even better when its long chains, twice as better when its Chanel (winks ;)). That Emerald and diamond combo screams elegance, and you can't go wrong with the classics: Pearls and diamond studs. I usually hate colored jewelry in fear that it looks too costume, but the picture above with those beautiful colored rings have me wanting to give it a go!
